Yuen Woo Ping

(Director, Snake in the Eagles Shadow, Drunken Master)

" I remember Ng See Yuen and I were trying to decide on who to get to play the lead in our next film, 'The Snake in the Eagle's Shadow'. Since I had been involved in the movies for the best part of my life as stuntman or choreographer, I knew all the actors abilities in martial arts. I thought that Jackie Chan would be a good choice to play the lead. My friends thought otherwise. They said not to use him, on account that he a had no boxoffice value. But it was my first film as director and I wanted an actor whom I was comfortable with. Jackie could do the movements I required, where as some other actor might not be able to. So I went with Jackie and the movie was a hit".
